Goodbye Simon
[June 16, 2007]
After Tucker passed away, I knew Simon was going to need lots of extra love and attention, but even though I work out of home, meaning that I'm here all the time, it just wasn't enough. He fell into depression that seemed to worsen with each passing week.

A Quick Simon Update
[May 16, 2007]
A cat on the lap is a happy cat indeed.

No Longer Bootielicious
[March 14, 2007]
I definitely use T.P. Apparently, Simon uses T.P. as well.

All About The Booties
[March 11, 2007]
It is said that duct-tape has a million and one uses; I've discovered the extra 'one' everyone refers to.

Simon's Toes
[March 9, 2007]
No more bloody toes, no more itch, itch, itch. No more pain. No more FWUMP!!!!?

When Good News Is Bad News
[March 3, 2007]
I just can't help the feeling that all of this is connected. But how? The vet doesn't seem to think that's the case. He can't find any medical evidence linking it all.

It Runs In The Family
[December 30, 2006]
Underneath the photo, as a caption, I almost typed "Same mom, different dads."

Regarding The Mystery Of The Feline
[December 21, 2006]
"You may own a cat but cannot govern one." - Kate Sanborn.

Gack
[November 22, 2006]
Who does he think he's kidding? "You like the taste of ear wax and you lick your own ass! I'm sorry, but your credibility in regard to good verses bad taste is shot."

A Sad Goodbye
[November 2, 2006]
Goodbyes are sad, but this isn't meant to be a sad post. It is meant to be a celebration of the life of a good friend.

Today Is A Very Bad Day
[October 29, 2006]
I'm not sure what I'm more sad about. My loss, or Simon's. I think Simon's loss is worse than mine, and I'm worried about that - but I'll do everything I can to help Simon get through it. And I suppose that, without even knowing it, he'll help me too.

A very short update
[October 28, 2006]
I wish I knew what to say, but I don't.

You Behind The Curtain?
[October 28, 2006]
I thought it was cute when I caught Simon peeking behind the curtains to see if Tuck was hiding back there, but now, Simon is lying in Tucker's favorite spot, looking sad. That pretty much sums up this day.

Empty
[October 27, 2006]
I'm thankful to live only three blocks from a vet, but the walk felt ten times further when I returned with an empty cat carrier. And the empty cat carrier sits on my dresser because I don't have the heart to put it back in storage.

Theif Of The Pillow
[September 7, 2006]
I sat down. I got up. When I returned, my seat was taken.

Trying To Explain It To A Cat
[June 27, 2006]
"Money is like cat food. It's something with value. An asset. No, wait - that's not it. How about this... Money is what I trade to get your cat food."

Opposites Attract
[January 30, 2006]
After lint-rolling my sweater for what must be the billionth time, only to find Tucker sitting smugly on the couch, well... I had an idea. OK, it was a stupid idea, but it was an idea nonetheless.

Shit! Shit! (Literally)
[November 27, 2005]
It never occurred to me to check if anybody was in the litter box.

Fuzzy Depression
[October 18, 2005]
Poor Tucker. You can see the sadness on his little fuzzy face. It'll all be over soon buddy! I promise! A new home with even better windows awaits.

He Of Many Names
[August 27, 2005]
Is it any wonder that my pets are disturbed?

Cat Gas, Except That It Wasn't
[August 14, 2005]
That ain't right.

What Are YOU Lookin' At?
[April 28, 2005]
This is why I'm not a parent. If he were a kid instead of a cat and had a voice that obnoxious, I'd have to tell him... "You really shouldn't talk. Other kids have nice voices. But you? Not so much."

What Do I Expect? He Licks His Own Butt
[April 22, 2005]
This morning, the circling started at 7:10. "Oh come ON Simon! Not Yet." And that's when it happened.

Mah-woah woah, wooaah!
[March 17, 2005]
"Huh! This. Huh! Sucks. Huh! I. Huh! Was. Huh! Planning. Huh! To. Huh! Puke. Huh! Over. Huh! There. Huh! Dammit. Huh!"

Squishybonkin'!
[March 7, 2005]
Picture Tuck sitting on top of that dresser when somebody walks by to throw something away. This, of course, demands his attention - which means he leans in to see what's going on, and occasionally gets hit in the nose with the trash can lid as it pops open.

Simon Sees His Shadow
[February 2, 2005]
Once upon a time, life was good. At least, that's the way my cats would have you believe.

My Cats Think I'm An Idiot
[January 11, 2005]
I see them look at me and stare as if I have no clue they question my intellect. And thus, we find ourselves locked into some sort of Mexican standoff - which, by the way, is a term I've never understood.

Even By Portland Standards, You're Pale
[January 5, 2005]
Ahh, the good life: Two quick shots of Tucker soaking up the sun that shines through our loft's huge windows.

In Their Natural Habitat
[December 22, 2004]
It's pretty obvious that Tucker rules the roost around here, and that Simon is his bitch. Sadly, it's true.

Upchuck
[November 11, 2004]
I don't like to vomit. OK, that's putting it mildly. I *HATE* to vomit. Tucker just accepts it as a necessary function, and Simon shares his with the world.

Nancy Boy?
[October 26, 2004]
I've been told that Simon looks just like Nancy Reagan. I've assembled the evidence. You be the judge.

The Only Toy Tucker Ever Enjoyed
[July 29, 2004]
Reason #432784346784 Why I Will Someday Have Some Explaining To Do.

A Dirty Shirt
[June 3, 2004]
One new cat-bed plus one old dirty shirt equals total cuteness.

The Evening Ritual
[May 21, 2004]
The sun had long set before he laid down for a good night's sleep. Why does he always put off sleep as if there is something else that must be done? Whatever it is - it can wait...
