If Looks Could Kill, I'd Kill Your Television

A few weeks ago, I posted the story of how my CD rack, Roy, got his name. Long story short: at the point when it became clear I no longer played CDs, I ROYGBIVed him. Yes, I organized his hundreds of CDs by color. Why? Because I had no reason not to.

While color coding him, thus turning him into a pseudo-art-project, I also re-imported all of his CDs into my iTunes at the highest quality setting (lossless). All of that importing took ages to complete, but I did it in chunks - a little each morning, a few disks at a time.

Through the process, I rediscovered a lot of music I hadn't listened to in years, and that inspired me to post a playlist. Or two. Or three...? I posted the first of those playlists recently, which was made up of mostly early 90s grunge. This time, I'm posting mostly early 90s British-ish tunes. Yes, the band Adorable is actually from Canada, but they sound more Brit than Canadian if you ask me.

And speaking of Canadian... someone needs to tell them their bacon tastes nothing like bacon. But now I'm getting totally off track... so... here's the playlist.

I tried not to go too obscure with this playlist, but I also wanted to include some mostly forgotten tracks... so... it's a balance. And, since I have a rule that I never post a song again if I've posted it before, that means digging deeper than some perhaps more obvious choices.

It's been a while, but as I've taken a break from grading my students' papers I "rediscovered" your site tonight. Thanks for these retro playlists. They bring back memories of the good old days when you were at WFSE. I'm glad that some things haven't changed--you're still a source for good music, old or new.
