I realize that Neko Case has a new album out, but I haven't had time to really get into it yet, so I'm posting an oldie but a goodie from 2002's "Blacklisted" instead in this twangy, folky sort of playlist.
This playlist begins and ends with a pair of tracks from River City Extension, a band which certainly doesn't sound like they're from New Jersey. I would have thought they were from Portland before even thinking of guessing New Jersey. Their album "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Your Anger" has some really compelling stuff on it. At times, their music leans a bit too far toward the 70's for my taste (maybe that proves they're from Jersey after all?), but it's one of those records where when it's good, it's really good.
