What A Beautiful Day To Stay The Same

HHhmmmmm... my week is all messed up. I have to go to jury duty on Wednesday, so I've been thinking ahead and planning ahead, but a four day workweek already has me running behind. I realize jury duty is my civic duty, but I dread it.

First, there's the concept of who jurors are. In theory, these are my peers. That's a horrifying thought. Each time I'd been called up for jury duty, I found myself surrounded by idiots. My personal favorite was the woman who, at 8 AM, felt the need to inform me that she was still drunk from the night before. "I knew I didn't have to work tomorrow" she said, "so I kinda overdid it last night." Ah, yes, I'm told these are my peers. Fanfuckingtastic.

This isn't a post about jury duty though. It's supposed to be about a playlist. And here is that playlist.

I'm so deep
that only in my sleep
do the secrets that I keep
float to the surface.

So I hold them down
'til they don't make a sound
like they accidentally drowned
except on purpose.

And when I wake up in the morning I tell myself
"Today I'll make a change"
but falling into my bed at night I think
"Man it was a beautiful day to stay the same."

OH! YES! Public service with a pub would be great! Maybe that would prevent potential jurors from showing up already loaded. What a great idea!
