It's funny how easy it is to associate songs with seasons.
I was living in Pittsburgh when I first heard Ben Folds Five's self titled CD. It was an unusually warm and sunny day in early Spring, but it felt like summer. To this day, that disk sounds like early summer to me. In "Where's Summer B?", Folds is referring to a woman named Summer rather than to the season... but it's close enough for a summertime playlist... so here we go:
There goes Joe Caparo again
with Darren's girl friend
They're asking where you been
like I know
where ya been
Hey Summer, where ya been?
I'm enjoying the playlist! "Tail of the Sun" always reminds me of a summer trip I took to Yosemite as a teenager. (BTW, that's another place you ought to visit.)::::: | June 30, 2010 2:04 PM
I've been to Yosemite once, but it was only for an afternoon. I'd very much like to return. I was there the day after Christmas in 2001. The little of the park that I visited sure was beautiful in the snow, but I'd rather see it in the spring - or... oooh... in the fall!::::: | June 30, 2010 2:36 PM
