One Free Century
It's been a few months since I've posted a twangy playlist, and since there's new music from a few of my favorite artists who venture into the alt-country genre... well... it's time for a Jalpuna Twangpuna playlist.
First things first, however. There's free music to be had. The Damnwells are one of the most under-appreciated bands I can think of, and they're giving away their new CD 'One Last Century' online. Go here and download it. Legally :)
You can preview a track from that one here. It's called 'Everything' and it's #8 on this week's playlist.
Twangpuna, vol. 7
02/16/09 - 02/22/09
- The Kid | Ben Nichols
- Wanna Run Away | Mark Curry
- The End's Not Near | Band Of Horses
- Via Chicago | Wilco
- When In Rome | Nickel Creek
- Michelle Post | Hootie & The Blowfish
- Joy Terrell Brown | Shawn Mullins
- Everything | The Damnwells
- It Couldn't Be Me | Johnathan Rice
- City Blues | Josh Rouse
- Thin Blue Flame | Josh Ritter
Other highlights this week:
Ben Nichols is the lead singer from Lucero. He's got a new solo 7 song EP called 'The Last Pale Light In The West', and you can get it on eMusic if you're a subscriber there (among other places, naturally). Good stuff!
Josh Rouse also has a new EP out: Bedroom Classics, vol. 3. That one's available on eMusic too.
Don't forget to download the new Damnwells CD. It's quite good, and did I mention that it's free?

I don't mean to push eMusic, by the way. I'm a subscriber there, but I sometimes struggle to use all of my downloads each month, which sucks because they don't roll over. You've got to use 'em or lose 'em.
