As of yesterday morning at 2 AM, another year of Daylight Savings Time has come to an end. It seems odd that Daylight Savings Time extends through 2/3 of the year while standard time only lasts a few months... but that's how the system works. Standard time has become an even shorter period since we changed the dates in 2007.
Daylight Savings Time used to extend from the first Sunday in April through the last Sunday in October. Now, it's from the second Sunday in March through the first Sunday in November.
With the shift of the clock comes a shift in mood. Darkness comes so early. It's a sign that winter is on the way.
Here's this week's playlist:
My favorite song in this playlist is by Glen Phillips, formerly of Toad The Wet Sprocket. It Takes Time is from his first solo CD 'Abulum', though this version is actually from a demo he posted on his website years ago. It's pretty similar, but the drums are a bit louder, which really adds to the darkness of the song in my opinion.
It's such a sad song, and that's why I love it. I really enjoy when a song truly captures an emotion, and this one sure does.
