This Is Why I'm Not
Every now and then, it's good to get a reminder that I suck. It keeps me humble.
Maybe I'll be out on a date with a spectacular woman, making her laugh with my puns and intriguing her with my stories. And then, at the end of the date, when I lean in for a kiss...
...I get the head-turn, which leads to an awkward hug.
It keeps me humble.
Maybe I'm not as funny or as intriguing as I think I am.
Similarly, it's good to get a reminder that I can totally blow it when I'm out with my camera.
Recently, I was wandering around the South Waterfront neighborhood with a friend, and we were snapping photos.
That's easy.
But then, when I turned around and faced the river, I saw a guy on water-skis wreck in spectacular fashion.
Head over feet...
...and then...
...and I totally suck because I didn't set my shutter at a speed fast enough speed to capture any of it. Those shots could have been crisp and clear. Instead, it's all a bbbbllluuuurrrrr...
...!
This is why I'm not a photographer. I'm just a guy who takes pictures.
...sigh.
