An Opportunity Missed

There are times when I wish I was a bit more clever when it comes to dating. I try really hard to always be sincere and let things play out the way they're going to play out, but every now and then, I can't help but think an opportunity was missed.

Let's consider this from a different perspective.

Think about the lottery. You probably don't play it very often. I never do. But if you were given a hint about the numbers on a particular drawing a week ahead of time, or even a month ahead of time... surely, you'd play. Right?

Right.

So, let's say you're single and have a kickass loft in the middle of the city. And, let's say that your couch is against a window that has a bird's eye view looking straight down the street, giving you a really nice night view of a few of Portland's landmark buildings...

the view

...not to mention...

the view

...and let's just assume that at the end of said street, there's a park where festivals are held through the summer.

the view

Wouldn't you make an effort to have a date on an evening like that?

the view

...some day, I'll figure this shit out.

No, kidding. You have so much potential concerning the perfect date with a loft, your location, events, and the moon. At least you can see the humor in it. Another missed opportunity for perhaps wonderful date.

So, I take it you just stayed home?
