Grace Impromptu

"Oh, I must be getting old, 'cuz I can't hold a grudge like I used to. The sudden patient virtue, grace impromptu."

That's the opening line from Guttering, by Ron Hawkins. It's track six on this week's Jalpuna Radio playlist. For some odd reason, it's a song that sounds like a hot summer night. At least, to me.

    For A Fake Empire
    07/09/07 - 07/15/07

  1. Fake Empire | The National
  2. Kill the Messenger | Jack's Mannequin
  3. I Had Angels Watching Over Me | Wheat
  4. Eat, Sleep, Repeat | Copeland
  5. Monsters | Something For Kate
  6. Guttering | Ron Hawkins And The Rusty Nails
  7. Pretend | The Tragically Hip
  8. Fated | Matthew Good Band
  9. I Hear You | Virgil
  10. The Guide | Borne
  11. Sleep Better | Pete Yorn

As I eagerly await the new Matthew Good disk that's coming out later this month, I'm posting an older song of his. Fated (track 8) is available on iTunes as part of a three-CD compilation called In A Coma, 1995 to 2005. If you enjoy his stuff, that's a great one to own, not to mention it's 36 songs for under $20.
