A Buddha Birthday
Buddha's birthday falls on the eighth day of the fourth month in the Chinese lunar calendar. This year, in the Western calendar (the Gregorian calendar actually - the one we follow), that day is today; May 24th.
Whoo hoo! It's a Buddha Birthday for me! ...but only this year.
Let's just hope my Buddha Birthday is more successful than my Jesus Year, during which I failed to shun shit.
Then again, I don't think a Buddha Birthday comes with a task.

Dang it! No Buddha Birthday for me--and I'm a Buddhist (albeit a lazy one)! Maybe its just as well. Sitting under a tree with snails on my head doesn't sound fun. Even with enlightenment thrown in.
