The Dashboard Melted, But We Still Have The Radio
There's lots of fun stuff in this week's Music Monday playlist - don't let the sad start fool you. This is one of those playlists that ebbs and flows as it goes.
Common Tunes
(and some not so common)
02/05/07 - 02/11/07
- Wasted Reprise | Pearl Jam
- Hey Boy | The Blow
- Down On The River By The Sugar Plant | Mike Doughty
- Hang Me Up to Dry | Cold War Kids
- Dashboard | Modest Mouse
- Creepin Up the Backstairs | The Fratellis
- The Jessica Numbers | The New Pornographers
- Skinny Fists | Christians & Lions
- Heretics | Andrew Bird
- The Bitch of Living | Duncan Sheik & Steven Slater
- Common People | William Shatner & Joe Jackson
(a very odd cover of the original by Pulp)
I'm absolutely loving the new Modest Mouse song 'Dashboard', and I can't wait until their next CD gets released. 'We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank' comes out March 20th. Woo hoo! And Johnny Marr (of The Smiths!) is now a band member. Johnny Marr and Modest Mouse? Wow - who saw THAT commin'? Sounds to me like the Queen isn't dead after all.
Also, The Blow is a very cool Portland band. Definitely check those out.
