Just A Typical Spring Day In Portland

After what seems like six months of nonstop rain, the sun is shining, and it appears that everyone is outside soaking it up.

"Everyone?"

Seems that way.

"Old lady walking dog?"

Check.

"Hipster chick clutching $400 purse?"

Check.

"Homeless guy asking for change?"

Check.

"Not-really homeless guy asking for change?"

Check.

"Power broker not giving not-really homeless guy change?"

Check.

"Valium poster-child collecting signatures for petition to legalize pot?"

Check.

"Ritalin poster-child asking if you want to do your part to help save the South American rainforest?"

Check.

"Obnoxious cell phone user?"

Check.

"Beautiful skirt-wearing woman?"

Sigh. Check.

"Her butch lesbian partner?"

Ahh, that explains it. Check.

"She was the one on the cell phone, wasn't she?"

Check.

"Unshowered man shouting bible verses?"

Check.

"Passer-by shouting insults at unshowered man shouting bible verses?"

Check.

"Slacker kicking a hackysack?"

Check.

"Student with a latte and a laptop?"

Check.

"Guy with a snake?"

Check.

Check out the... uhh... is that a tooth?

Gee sir, how'd you cut your finger?

By the way, the snake's name is Herman. Yes, I asked.

The pics are actually from late yesterday afternoon, and my camera skills suuuuck! I'm so mad at myself for not getting better pictures of the snake. The guy had two of them, though only one was in any mood to be social. I didn't get a single shot that showed how big the snakes were, nor did I get a shot of the guy. Hell, I didn't even take a shot of my friend Jessie who was holding the snake (the yellow fabric in the second shot is her shirt). She had the snake draped around her neck and along her arm. Jess and Herman had a marvelous time together.

Ah, yes. When the weather in the PNW is good, it is very, very good. Sounds like you caught all the truly interesting scenery.
