Andrew Paul Woodworth

Hey there, hi there, how's about some free music?

...that's what I thought.

His name is Andrew Paul Woodworth, and he's streaming his first ever solo CD on his website. You should check it out - even if only to hear his cover of the Beastie Boys "Fight For Your Right To Party," this time done as an acoustic ballad. Come on - admit it... that's cool. It's the first time the Beasties have ever let anyone release a cover of one of their songs, and it's definitely worthy.

Frankly, I dig the entire CD... especially the sad songs, like "Innocent"

uncle said "I love you, let me tell you
what I've learned
if you want to kill the villain,
kill the hero first
villain is your voice
the hero is your thirst"

His website is HERE.

His solo CD is called "I Hate Music." You can hear it HERE.

And his myspace is HERE.

Enjoy.

did you notice that he's going to be in town on the 11th? (i imagine that might partly be why you posted this ...)

HA! I actually had no idea. I was just posting this entry because I've been a huge fan of his music for the last nine years (when he was part of the bands Elephant Ride and Virgil). I'm a believer that great music needs to be shared, so I wanted to pass along the links.

Wow - I might have to go to this show. I'd love to buy his CD rather than listen to it on the net (or, ahem, capturing the stream and saving it to disk - cough)

Sunday 12/11/05
Andrew Paul Woodworth
Mississippi Studios - Portland, OR
3939 N. Mississippi Ave.
7:30 pm. $10 at Door.

Thanks for the tip Bonnie!
