Oh the joys of living with pets. They enrich our lives in so many ways. Humor, for instance. Everybody loves a good laugh, and man oh man do my boys provide plenty of that.
I feed them every night at 9:30, which means that by 9, they're getting antsy. At 9:20 tonight, I decided that a glass of wine would be nice. It never occurred to me to check if anybody was in the litter box.
The poor little pooper must have heard me get up... One minute, he was enjoying a lovely kitty bowel movement (lovely to him, not so lovely to me). The next, it was sheer panic as he assumed his brother was being fed & he was missing out. I swear to god, I heard the words "Oh shit!" come from inside the litter box.
"Mahwow WOW wow!!!"
Scrape scrape, dig dig, shimmy shimmy shake shake, dig, scrape!!! Bump bump!!!
"Mah-freaking-wow!!! Hang on out there!!! Jesus!!! Meeee-OW!!!!!"
I felt so bad as I looked over, expecting to see the litter box bouncing up and down... but instead I saw Simon come flying out the swinging litter box door, skidding his way across the hardwood floor & heading straight for the kitchen.
...I guess he made room for more.

Do you mean, when I feed them?
Simon does... He takes a few steps forward towards the dish, then spins around to make sure I'm right behind him. They he spins around and takes a few more steps forward. Then he spins again. When he reaches the food dish, sometimes he'll just keep on spinning in circles. It's hysterical.
I love my guys::::: | November 28, 2005 2:27 PM
You know, maybe I will start feeding my cats on a schedule, too... not just to make them skinnier (The Colonel is woefully obese), but just for the entertainment value *grin*::::: | November 29, 2005 8:59 AM
