Waterfront Park, 10pm
A few shots of the 4th Of July fireworks in Downtown Portland, as seen from my perch on the east bank of the Willamette, not far from the Hawthorne Bridge. You can spot the bridge in the photos...
I'm starting to think that if you've seen one fireworks display, you've seen 'em all... Luckily, my camera kept me from getting bored. And speaking of my camera - it's times like this when you quickly learn what your camera can and cannot do. Most of these shots were taken by following the fireworks into the sky and anticipating when they'd explode - making sure to snap the photo ever so slightly before...
I'm not complaining though. I mean, hey, I'm using a digital camera, but it's still just a point-and-shoot. Not a particularly expensive one either. I can't imagine how costly something like this must have been to capture on film.
