Spoofing The Spoofer
I love the current Geiko ad campaign - especially the spoof commercial ads.
Two standouts:
- The ad that spoofs Old Navy, with idiots in tacky clothes: "New clothes are fun, but they won't save you any money on car insurance!"
- The ad that spoofs Fox reality shows... I don't remember the Geiko tag in that one, but the ad made me laugh. I actually believed for a moment that Fox was producing a reality TV show with a couple forced to live in a miniature house.
The problem I have now is that every time I see a bad TV commercial, I hope it's going to be a Geiko spoof ad. I keep waiting for the real tag at the end of the commercial.
- For the forthcoming NBC Boxing reality show ad "Beating people up is fun! ...but it won't save you any money on car insurance."
- For the Viagra-wannabe pillpopper ad (I think it was Levitra): "Having to see a doctor because of a four hour erection is fun! ...but it won't save you any money on car insurance!"
Is it wrong that I'm actually looking forward to more of these ads?
