Qua- Qua- Qua- Quagmire!

Today's reason to whip your coffee mug across the room & watch it shatter against a far wall, leaving a marvelous brown blotch, is brought to you by THE WAR IN IRAQ - sponsored by your good friends at Haliburton. Though Satan himself could not be reached for comment, his official spokesperson Dick Cheney assures us that things are going very well. "Very well indeed... mwahahahahahhaaaa!!!!! ahem."

Some days I can barely finish reading the news without wanting to thrust my head through my monitor in disghust... damn damn damn! It's sad that I have to wonder if people really ARE that stupid. And sadder still that the answer is all too often yes.

People just believe what they're told & fail to ask questions.

Why is nobody asking these questions?

In other news, while the U.S. has enough troops in Iraq to fill a medium sized city, we're losing coalition partners as they pull out their troops.

As if it matters.

"Another coalition partner, the Philippines, said it was considering removing its contingent of 60 troops."

Sixty? How is it that Americans are dumb enough to believe we have an actual coalition when nearly all of the troops in Iraq are ours?

"Ricardo L. Saludo, Philippines presidential spokesman, said in a statement 'the decision on whether or not to withdraw our peacekeeping forces will depend on the security situation in Iraq in the days to come.'"

Philippine troops? Are they kidding? SHEEESH!!! It's 60 people! I swear to god, people have no common sense at all these days. 60 frigging people!!! As if it would even MATTER if they left when we've still got more than a hundred and thirty thousand there.

"The Pentagon is about to approve a request keeping 20,000 U.S. troops in the country an extra three months."

Why not ask troops from Philippines to stay longer? Oh that's right. There are only SIXTY of them. And they're headed home.

So much for our 'coalition'.

"In another development, an Iranian delegation traveled to Iraq Wednesday at the request of the United States to help ease the fighting."

"...you're part of the axis of evil, axis of evil, you're evil - until we need you." Sheesh!

Talk about hypocrisy.

Honestly, I'm embarrassed and ashamed of my country sometimes.
